The smell of old dechlorinator, presumably because the Sodium Thiosulphate is decomposing, but still

people who ask for advice then suddenly decided they know better because they didnt get the answer they wanted . and people with big plecs etc in tinty little tanks. altho these 2 tend to go hand in hand quite often

The phrase "my fish seems/seemed happy enough" - usually when applied to a single cory or tetra on the basis that it's still swimming. I'd love to meet these smiling, laughing, joke-cracking fish that just love their own company.

Or - needing to do a partial water change when I'm shattered and would rather just look at the tank, not empty it!

That I don't have a big enough house to have all my tanks in the house.
I have asked the girlfriend about giving the kids away so we would have extra room but all she done was laugh. I'm still not sure if that was a yes or no.

I'd take it as a yes... Not sure if there is a www.kids-classifieds.co.uk though.

I used to be one of them people.

I had one neon and i believed he was fine. Not until i rehomed him (after advice from here) with a friend who already had a shoal did i see the change in behaviour and colour.

can just imagine the classified ad .

2 kids , age and sex confirmed , feeding well on chips and ketchup . will swap for 6x2x2 or similar

+1 Although it does make for some interesting thread reading!

For me it would read,

For swap.
4xkids,
Eating well,
3xmale 1xfemale so may want to house separately to reduce aggression.
Colouring up some slowly, some earlier than expected.
1 male like to hide away from everyone else
The female has been known to want to be at the top of the pecking order even though she's the youngest.

Would consider swapping for anything over 8x2x2

Cleaning filter pipes...
Definitely. Amazed at how much junk comes out. Glad it stays in the pipes though.
My biggest gripe is how quickly fish die for no apparent or obvious reason in water with perfect parameters. I know things happen out of our control but it still makes me sad.
Another gripe is how the whole fish and aquarium sales industry will say anything just to make a sale with absolutely no regard to the well being of the fish or their customers who will end up with dead fish.
