Yf Can Taste The Salt..

That will be my project tommorow, to try and customize a torch to one.
Do like all the creatures go mad under the red/blue light then or somthing?

YF

Ok, I have got a red torch, I put it on the rocks but dont see anything?

YF

It's not dark enough yet  wait until it is pitch black AND where did you get a red torch!!??

It really will not matter if you leave the lights off over a weekend :good:

get a analogue light timer mate only a few quid from the likes of b&q. better than the digital ones as these can reset themselves and leave off all time or on all time when the electricity ever goes off and on. with the analogue ones your on off times will be messed up but will still be on for the right length of time

hope you can make sense through the waffle lol

Cheers for that steph.
And seffie, I just got a small tortch and colored the lense bit red. I saw some amazing creatures last night with it.
And im sure I spotted a baddie in a little peice of rock.
It looks almost like a snail/crab and im not 100% certain, but I think it had red eyes.

YF

if you really want to see some scary things drop some brine shrimp in and then look its awful

Haha, I will do matey.
Bae - Do you have msn? If so could you PM me it we could have a chat on there if you want.
:)

Just checked one of the first frags I got off the man, it seems to have got smaller and have small white string, looks like little worms on it, could it be little worms? Could this mean the coral is dead?

YF

Its not a leather I dont think, its all shrivvled up and is just under an inch.
The leather mushrooms I do have are molting, the powerhead is not taking the stuff off it, so im going to let nature take its cause.

YF

If I leave the lights off for two days, is there anything bad that could happen?
And seffie + trod, I want to come up to your house just to see what stuff you have lying around.
:p

YF

Hate to think what you might find

You daft date, they would look red wouldn't they  you are shining a red light into their eyes and it is reflecting back - think of red eye on a camera :p

Just pick them up with your fingers and move them :p That's what i do, must admit that sometimes my hands or arm come out of the water feeling a bit tingly, but I am hoping that I will build up an immunity (bit like a clown fish ). I always keep antihistamin in the medicine cupboard, as should you now :good:

If I use a grabber thing will it kill the heads, or are they fairly strong?
And if I just rest it on a peice of rock, will it attach itself?

YF

I wouldn't use the grabber things - go on, half the fun is getting your hands wet. You will have to get some reef glue or putty to make them stay where you want them :good:

I dont mind getting my hand wet, its just the thought of getting stung. I carnt swallow tablets lol.

It really is just like getting an itchy spot, nothing worse - bristle worms run a mile when our hands go in the water and they are mostly nocturnal as well, you are worrying too much. You have nothing apart from bristle worms in your tank that will sting you

ps ask your chemist for liquid antihistamin
