The chance of fragging killing it is probably around 90%. It is very rare for someone to have successfully fragged this coral when its in perfect health. Usually both develop bacterial infections and die within a few days after fragging.
Don't fear, when i got my yellow fiji leather, mine was just like that, full of mucus, never open, always drooping, lasted for about 1-2 weeks. Yours does seem a little worse than mine though.
The best thing to do is to give it lots of light and flow, and whatever you do, dont touch it with anything, dont move it, and definitely dont take it out of the water.
They aren't like other leathers, these are very poor shippers and ive never seen an aquacultured one so its probably a wild caught.
It is a hit or miss coral, but if it does get better, you will give yourself a pat on the back for having one because they are beautiful corals. Heres mine btw:
Here is one of my older FTS (this tank is no more, all has been moved to my 65 gallon, leather isnt doing so well in there)
It recieved direct flow from my koralia 2 and semi-direct flow from my maxijet 600, and as you can see, it is almost directly under my 150 watt halide which is only 4 inches from the water. So high light high flow.
