Yellow Fiji Leather

Doesn't look good for that leather, it seems it is dying in some areas, though it is kinda hard to tell.

Hey all, it seems that some parts of my fiji leather are dying off and I am unable to salvage it so I will just frag the good parts. When fragging a yellow leather:
1. Should I use a razor blade?
2. After I frag how do I attach it to a rock? Is it the same process as a mushroom or xenia?
Here is the latest picture: (its dying off in the middle)

Having not seen it's progression I'm not sure if fragging is the right choice here, that coral looks like it's in the gray area of fragging or not. But to answer your questions:

1. Yes, a scalpel or xacto knife is easier to handle if you have one...
2. Yes

The chance of fragging killing it is probably around 90%. It is very rare for someone to have successfully fragged this coral when its in perfect health. Usually both develop bacterial infections and die within a few days after fragging.

Don't fear, when i got my yellow fiji leather, mine was just like that, full of mucus, never open, always drooping, lasted for about 1-2 weeks. Yours does seem a little worse than mine though.

The best thing to do is to give it lots of light and flow, and whatever you do, dont touch it with anything, dont move it, and definitely dont take it out of the water.

They aren't like other leathers, these are very poor shippers and ive never seen an aquacultured one so its probably a wild caught.

It is a hit or miss coral, but if it does get better, you will give yourself a pat on the back for having one because they are beautiful corals. Heres mine btw:

Here is one of my older FTS (this tank is no more, all has been moved to my 65 gallon, leather isnt doing so well in there)

It recieved direct flow from my koralia 2 and semi-direct flow from my maxijet 600, and as you can see, it is almost directly under my 150 watt halide which is only 4 inches from the water. So high light high flow.

Thanks Ski and Musho but unfortunately the coral was on its way :( so I decided to try and save a piece, and Musho you were right. First day the frag was looking good, polyps out and all. Second day it melted... :/ Well I think the problem was that I didn't have enough flow for it. 1 maxijet 400 and an aquaclear30 in a 10g, so I guess it wasn't sufficient enough or maybe lack of light? 64w only? Well I plan on getting two nano koralias and 70 mh for the 10g so hopefully i'll try it again later on.
Musho I am so jealous. You have a beautiful leather I am so envious of and your tank is looking good!
