I will probably be a playstationer for life.. I just cant see myself paying to play online. If playstation ever has that happen I'll probably just get a new computer and play on the computer for free!

I would never use a ps2 online...who wants to when you can be gaming it with people on dial-up. At least xbox is reserved for people with broadband only.

I don't pay monthly, I pay a yearly subscription and why not? For 30 quid a year i can download playable demo's of every game that comes out inc old arcasde classics..so I never have to waste money on a bad game again. Ps2 online sucks, and doesn't even compare to the xbox live....which is one thing microsoft did get right.

At persent I'm only really playing gears of war...which rules.

well if it is now brodaband only it never used to be the case....nice to see they finally joined the rest of the world then.

"you haven't used any facts to support your opinion"...I don't need facts as they were never asked for, it's my opinion from having owned one and ditching it because it was a useless bit of kit full of flaws...

they sold a 56k adapter for PS2'ers so unless theyve changed that then theres still a few of em out there.

Xbox Live is a better service all round and thats why we pay.


you have a single friends list that remains the same all the time and can be called up on screen at anytime. centralised stats in games and people have the same names so its easy to keep track.


as has been said you can download demos, movie trailers, themes for the (much smarter looking) dashboard and loads more (whilst still playing).


but generally it is just the whole package thats better. i kno the PS2/3 has some of this stuff but it was hashed together in a hurry cos sony didnt even think the market wanted online gaming. shows how much they kno!!

i can understand your problem with the controller but really after a week or so youll love it and hate the PS2/3 pad.

i used to be the same as you but now i think the ps pad is far too small and light.

PS2 online was dire! i tried Killzone and its terrible. Sony doesnt have a patch on Xbox Live yet.

Ok i'm confused, i have talktalk broadband, im not wireless, im all wired up, would i need to buy a 40ft wire leading all the way up into the xbox which would be in my room or do i buy the little wireless adaptor which goes into the usb cable, my internet speed is 1.1mbps, is that fast or slow?

I know that my sister managed to get the DS online jus by entering a little code into the DS, so really i shouldn't have any troubles with getting XBOX online?

Please do give me the simplest instructions possible, i don't have the XBOX yet, but will do by June, just getting some knowledge off those of you who do own one.
