Watching fish.
I've heard rumors that if you've had fish in an uncycled tank for 6 months, and you are moving these fish to another cycled tank, without taking any water out of the old tank, would it be cycled for the other fish?

If the new tank you are putting them into has cycled then yes it will stay cycled.

Mike

If you are keeping the filter in the other tank I would just do some water changes and it should be cycled if the goldfish were in the tank.

How can a tank stay uncycled for 6 months?

You should have enough benefical bacteria in the tank if you add smaller fish. But you would have to do some water changes before you added the fish.
Is this the tank you have the goldfish in.

Yes, I plan on getting guppies after.
Also another question, can guppies be happy in cold water? If not I'm not that cheap and will not hesitate to go buy a heater.

Guppys will need a heater.
Where are the goldifsh going.
You need to add flakes to keep the beneifical bacteria alive without any fish in the tank.

They are going to a much bigger tank. (Don't know the size, yet) and next year, possibly a pond.

Wasn't it 3 fancy goldifsh in a 6 gallon tank.

If so you need 35 gallon tank.
70 gallon filter.

Actually, it's an 8.5.
I had gotten it before I had even joined this forum, so, I knew nothing of fish.
The very first day I had piranha, sadly, I had him in a tiny betta bowl, which got upgraded to a 1g tank with oxygen then finally this.
