hi folks, would like to put a 350l corner tank in my living room but im a wee bit concerned if its to close to my stove. here is a photo, looks a bit cramped in the photo but there is a few metres between the gaps

i would put a black background on the 2 rear panels of the tank, that should stop any light getting into the tank from the behind

that distance should not be an issue.......I'd be more worried about the little people playing 'tappy' on the glass :)

Clearly you, or someone in your house has children. That yellow and red car would be a concern for me.
Also, would it sit far out from the wall? Would it block the door way?

the door way does not get used, its just a door we put there for the future if we want to put down decking outside. i do have a wee boy and he loves fish and is very carefull around my other tanks, if all else fails i will extend the stove baby gate to fit around the tank.

I don't personally believe the stove would have any effects on the tank. My 350ltr sits about the same distance, possibly a wee bit more away from our large open fire which is lit every night apart from the summer. I've checked the temp with normal and digital thermometers as I have three in the tank and it doesn't rise. Maybe one degree if its really warm but then the heater will cut off.

As long as your happy with where it sits then that's the main thing. :good:
