Would Like To Convert To Marine

Stock looks ok, when it comes to angels nipping corals I would take it with a pinch of salt.
Fish are fish, no 2 are the same, some fish nip and some don't so untill it's in you don't know.

Or how about this? it's local. Click here

seems to be the only one on eBay locally

will check again tomorrow!

Good size tank, 60kgs of liverock seems like a bit much to me, more rock than swimming space.

Always be wary when being established setups, you never know what problems the tank might have had.

Yes and I was wondering if there is any way of knowing if live rock is.. still live? If they havent had any fish in there producing waste would the bacteria die on the live rock?

Pull the LR from the water, if it's good it will smell like the ocean, if it's bad you will heave.

lol nice

i think this tank is listed wrong. the juwel rio is flat, this one is bow fronted. i had a rio!

edit: yes im sure its a vision 180

can i suggest you read, seffies old journal. its hers and trods 'journy to the salty side' i think its in the nano section, her and her sister both bought the 550. you could learn a lot about it from that!

never been to that shop, may try it though as my dad lives in lincs

Well i have read Seffie and Trod's journal - it's very long but worth reading. im on about page 14 at the moment, it takes a lot of time to read, just makes me more interested.

makes me wonder if i can manage without crabs or any other crawlies. they seem like trouble, and im scared of anything that crawls.

are there any shrimps that cause mischief? i dont want it lol

it is indeed, very long, I had a lot of questions to ask  and then there is Trod, well what can I say, she can't help it!!!

Cheapest I have found the tank for is £240 new. still wondering about the stand.. and where im going to put it in my room as its fairly full!

No i didn't, the stand is awful, poor quality and useless for storage, if I bought the 550 again I think I would either do a diy job or buy a sturdy chest of drawers or the like. It would be easy to do a diy job and then add shelves and doors :good:

Wouldn't mind betting there are lots of people who have made stands for tanks, thinking about it, someone on here did it not that long ago - who was that?

Try starting a thread in the hardware section about making a stand :good:

oh its a shame that the tank wouldnt fit on my drawers

they are only 48cm from front to back, i think.

we have plenty of materials for building a stand though :)

Assuming I get an Orca TL550, which is 120L I would like these fish:

2x Clownfish (percula or false, is there any difference other than slightly different appearance)
1x Neon goby

Then theres the ones I'm not sure about yet (please note i don't expect all of these to fit! I need to shortlist them):
Cardinals (Banggai)
Chromis (probably green chromis)
Damsels (probably azure)
Possibly a dwarf angel of some kind (flame?)
1x Blenny (bicolor)
1x Basslet (Royal Gramma)

Are there any shrimps or snails that will go with these?
I'd rather not have a crab or anything with large pinsors

Any help would be appreciated, as to compatability or quantities of these fish.

Shopping list:
15kg of live rock
Coral sand
Testing kits - please suggest!
Food - which fish eat what?

Thank you! :)
