"No one is a failure unless you try"
No, it's not Walmart this time.
This weekend I was in Dallas for the betta show and my friend and I stopped by the Irving Mall. There was a little booth in the middle of the mall called Wild Zoo, and you wouldn't BELIEVE the conditions at that place. It sold iguanas, hermit crabs, goldfish and bettas. The conditions for the iguanas weren't ideal, but the fish.... oh God, the poor fish. There was one 15-ish gallon tank with about 12 common goldfish in it, and pairs of goldfish were being sold in one gallon critter keepers. There were bettas as well, in half gallon critter keepers, which wouldn't seem so bad except that they were in about an inch of water... filthy brown water. They couldn't even stretch their fins out all the way because the water was so shallow, and it was literally so dirty that it was difficult to see the fish in there. Honestly, I wouldn't have been able to imagine animals being kept and sold in these in my wildest of dreams. I would have taken photos just to prove how horrific it really was if the booth owner hadn't been standing right there. I would have said something to him about how he was keeping his animals, but I know it wouldn't have made a difference... anyone who keeps them like that isn't ignorant of the fact that what they're doing is wrong, they're just too heartless to care.
Please, BettaMomma, I'm begging you to call the mall and complain about this. It was just absolutely disgusting and I'm afraid I'll have a freakout if I try to call right now. Here's the number I found on the internet... anyone else who would like to call, feel free. I'll try to work up the courage too in a couple of days, because I am absolutely irate at what I've seen

Again, the name of the booth is Wild Zoo
