Wobbly Guppy?

on another site someone said they had fry at 3 weeks old!

nice pic harlequins. those r nice fry at the bottom of the tank. mine r about l wide and ____ long.

So much for that other site Biokid. It takes a full 4 weeks for a mature pregnant female to any drop fry. Tell me how an unborn female can become pregnant and maybe we can begin to consider such obvious bad information.

lol u have a nice point i didnt believe it.but i got a bit scared cause mine are 3 weeks old. how many do u think i should keep out of 17 guppy fry? remember i have a 5 gal and 3 adult guppies.?

If you want some assurance tht you will keep both males and females, it takes 6 to have a very good chance of having at least one of each sex, it is just a statistics thing. If you are happy with the males you already have and don't want any more, you can wait until you can sex the fry and move out the ones you do not want. If you are intending to breed and improve your fish, you need to hold them all until they are large enough for you to pick out the specific fish you want to keep. That makes at least 3 answers and does not address all of the possibilities.

thank you. i have another question which livebearers fry grows faster the swordtails or the guppies? cause i have 3 6 day old swordtail fry and they are almost as big as my 3 and 2 days old guppy fry.

Guppies will mature at a much younger age than swordtails will. A guppy has a short life expectancy and a similarly short maturation period. I have swordtails well over a year and a half old that are just starting to reveal their true gender although I have suspected for some time that they were all males. Now the reason for no fry is becoming much more obvious. They are beautiful mature late blooming wild type males that would impress any female if I had one for them to impress.

guppy fry update: 24 days old. swordtail fry update: one week old!! im going to get a female guppy tomorrow or thursday.

my teachers guppy has recently given birth and they r all over the tank. the guppies dont even eat any of them! thats crazy. they r really tiny and i sit on the other side of the room from them. i wish i sat next to them.but if i did i would fail lol.anyway they must be well fed. his are only a couple days old mine are 3 weeks.

Guppies are not especially carnivorous fish Biokid. I always seem to get a few fry from every drop that I have in a guppy tank, no matter how many adults are present. I find nothing unusual in you observing lots of swordtail fry survivors in a mostly guppy tank.

nice. i found something wierd in my tank. i am noticing all the guppy fry are all normal except for one of them. i havent seen it before.maybe i did but i never noticed...it was bigger than all the other fry!! its huge id say it looks as if it was 1 week ahead of the other ones but its not. its very wierd and it has like this dot behind its stomach. that might be a gravid spot.

im getting another female soon and im going to get one that is not as big so i dont end up with 40 or 50 fry! i already have enough. and they r all doing great. i found one with a bent spine and i fed it to the adults....again...it barely fit into its mouth so they must be getting bigger. maybe next week i shall put them in there.

I cant get to the pet store today because we r in a state of emergency so everything is closed and there is a snow ban it is so horrible here!!

can someone please post a pic of a month old guppy fry that u can tell is a male or a female? please i need to seperate my guppy fry soon and i wanna know if i can tell at one month old!

YAY!! I GOT MY NEW GUPPIES!!! my new male is amazing!! he has a big flowing blue tail!! and i got two females!! so im up to 6 guppies.the two new females r heavily pregnant and one has an opened birthing tube so im expecting them tonight or tomorrow. and her gravid spot is very dark and the other one has a red gravid spot and it has about 10 little dark eyes.!!

cmon ppl i need help why isnt noone answering??

my new female guppy gave birth last night when i had shut off the lights. i turned em on just to take a look and i saw a fry next to his mom and i was like i knew it!! so last night i caught 5 only cause it was 1 am lol i had to wake up at 6.....so i woke up and i found a couple more maybe 5 or 6 and when i left for school her gravid spot was a little dark not as before when it was really black..so after i got home from school i didnt find anymore.so i have around 25 fry now in all her gravid spot is very light now i can see thru her now lol.
