Our water pressure is down bad. I can’t even clean my fish tanks and you guys know how fanatical I am on that. Python couldn’t get any suction. :(

You use the the tap to vacuum/drain??

I quit doing that after the first two or three times I used my Python, such a waste of water...I use gravity, and drain into my flowerbeds, or for the 29G, into a bathtub...old tank water is full of nutrients, plants love it

Sorry to hear about the pressure anyway, shower time won't be fun...

This freeze has been a trying time for me. My water had long frozen up, but then my electricity went out at around noon. I got out my generator and could not get it to start, I tried using starting fluid and caught the generator on fire. Needless to say, it was a goner, I panicked calling my brother because he has a generator.

Slipped sliding through icy roads for a 70-mile round trip is no fun, got back with the second generator and it started and ran but would only put out 90 volts, not enough to do much for heaters. I plugged in my aquariums to the generator, leaving it running. Because it was going to get down to 15° F, there is no way I can stay home. Gathered up my dogs and my cat, and back on the icy roads to my brother's house to spend the night with him.

Lucky today the ice on the roads melted, so I made my way back home. The electricity was back on, so great. Checked on my aquariums. The 55 gallon is 65° F. And the betta tank is 72° F. The temp in my house was 35° F, so I turned on every heater I own. So far everybody in my aquariums seems to be ok, just hope the water heats up without harming them. I will be keeping a close eye on it all.

I called all over the place looking for another generator, but everyone is sold out of those and heaters.

Wow, what a nightmare...that fire could have been much worse if it spread, glad you are OK.
I'm not brave enough to drive SEVEN miles on icy roads, much less 70...where in Texas are you? N, S, E, W, Central?

The whole state was hit hard, one for the record books....glad to hear your fish are fine, for now, hopefully for the long term

I live out in the sticks right between Livingston and Cleveland. Driving on icy roads is scary, and at least twice I had to correct a slide while driving and I never got over 30 mph, even less on a few really bad spots in the road. What normally only took me about forty minutes to drive took an hour and a half. But I have brand new tires which I know made the difference. I made it twice because I simply had no choice.

To top all this off, I also lost my cell phone. I have looked and looked for it, but have not found it. The bad thing about that is that everywhere I went to try and get a replacement was closed today. Even Walmart's electronic section is closed. My sweetheart of a grand-niece who is ten years old loaned me hers until I could get another phone.

We have about 5” of “snow” if you will. The ground was frozen yesterday, and then it sleeted, and then it snowed a lot today. We did have fun sledding today.

Yeah, it's bad up there.
And, awful news about losing your phone, contact your provider and let them know, so it can be shut down.
Sorry to hear of all these troubles...

Tried to slice up some live earthworms I caught here once, not a pretty sight....huge mess, and pretty gross, lol...
Had to dissect a worm in high-school. Not exactly fun, but at least I didn't puke like one of my peers did when we got to the frogs...

It warmed up here from -7 degrees to +18. I should put on a T shirt and shorts :p It had been cold here for the past month and our heat went out Sunday. My wife bundled up in a blanket until the furnace repairman got here late in the afternoon. I had to add water to all my tanks due to evaporation. Wind chill got down to -35 degrees
The UK gets weird weather patterns however, last week minus four this week fourteen.

LOL luckily I have avoided those classes. I had assumed they stopped doing them but it turns out they still did.
