not too much damage. was like that when i got him. think thats sort of why i picked him. even though it was actually new plants i was after. hes in the hex tank now. him and a very young bristle nosed plec.

I would actually not do the meds and just use a very tad bit of aquarium salt instead. Just a tad has always healed my babies fins right up! It will grow back on it's own anyway but the aquarium salt can help it from becoming infected. He's beautiful!!!

got him at peter barrets in newcastle. so far ive been hearing great things from them too. they really seem to look after their fish. even though i got him nipped he was seperate when in the shop. m,any of my friends have had tropical fish from there and they all give a thumbs up

I believe it is safe, but don't quote me on that..I am mostly just familiar with bettas. Wait for anothe rreply, lol

that's where I got Draven from (but Stockton not Newcastle), and they seem pretty good with their fish there too, there was one that had been really nipped, but they had put him in a tank to sort him out.

He is a crowntail. The tail isn't nipped at all. Those are extended rays.

I'm sure they obviously know that heh.
It's probably some of the rays that have been nipped off?
I would just keep his water clean.
If it looks like it could be finrot then treat with whatever will help it. If it's melafix, only use half the dose.

i know hes a crown tail thats part the reaon why i got him. i prefer crown tails and his tail is nipped allthough i must say it isnt too badly damaged

MONKEY HANGER! :) yes they seem very good. whenever ive seen bettas they are always on their own. so i presume the damage has been done prior to arriving at barrets

Oh. Okay gotcha :)

You don't need to add anything to the water at all. More constant water changes with a tad bit of aquarium salt will heal it up.
