Wild Red Spotted Peru Angelfish Tank

Really filling out well now Matt, everything is looking great! Your Angels really stay together well too!

Just a little note to say i hate you so much!!

Youve made me want my angels back :(
Tank and fish are stunning.
Green with envy.

i did a major rescape yesterday and removed the group of 13 rosy tetra. today ive added 6 more cardinals and 3 more bolivian rams. the current stocking is now-

8 x angels
41 x cardinals
10 x bolivian rams
2 x L200
1 x L128
5 x otocinclus
1 x bulldog plec

im very tempted to get a group of gold tetra that i had before in another tank but almost came back today with a large group of ember tetra....... i feared they would become prey to the FX5's or angels though

heres a quick shot of the new scape taken last night after finishing it after myself and minnnt had destroyed the previous layout trying to catch 13 rosy tetras......... hence the reason its not completely full of water and the fish look a bit bland due to the stress of it all

i actually prefer it to the previous scape but think it could do with some more vallis along the back behind the wood and anubias :hey:

Ooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! I love this scape!!!! Soooo purdy!!!! I prefer it as well. Too bad the L200 I ordered like 2 months ago I think came dead :( it really was a beautiful fish, but I suppose seeing pics of yours sill have to do :grr: it is yours that made me want an L200.

The Angels are brilliant Matt, very nice indeed. The Bolivians are what stood out the most to me though. Stunning fish in excellent condition. Amazing how close the Cardinals shoal in the picture. Shame about real life.

Lemons over Platinums too. ;)

i am loving the bolivian rams which is why i came back with another 3 today :hyper: i was thinking of adding a pair of keyholes or other dwarfs but just love the bolivians and the more the merrier. i now have 10.....
i think the cardinals were showing off tbh, as you say they arent the best shoalers unless they feel threatened. so i guess they are very happy and relaxed in my tank :good:

the tetra debate...... i was looking at some lemons today but jus not convinced they are gonna stand out enough. they were 6 for £10 and a very good size, colour and health but just didnt shout out to me and whatever goes in this time is staying in......

i was really liking ember tetras but their size is a chance with the angels and FX5 filters. i would also need quite a few to have an impact. its still platinums/gold if i can find any i think  or maybe a load more cardinals........

i do like lemon tetra im just not convinced that they will stand out and add much of an impact in the tank..... ive never kept them so i cant say for sure what they will look like tbh  another thing is the size of the lemons. they are quite a deep bodied tetra like the rosy tetra i just took out so if i had quite a few they would fill the tank too much and having too few wouldnt be worth it.

the idea behind the platinum/gold tetra was to add a real brightness to the tank. when i had them in the past they looked amazing against plants and they did keep together pretty well. they stay pretty small so i could have a group of 20 say and they wouldnt take up too much space visualy, in the same way my group of 40+ cardinals hardly take up much space due to their shape.

i really liked the look of the ember tetra i saw at the lfs they were really vivid orange and a good size too. its just a shame they dont get very big....

Rummynoses perhaps?
yeah they had some great rummys in too but again i feel they lack the big impact of colour or shine im after. they are stunning fish and shoal like no other fish ive ever kept and maybe a bit too hyper for my angels

i have considered them though :hey: and they are still on the imaginary list just not at the top.

Pencil fish, they're not hyper, they just mong about being sh.. Scared of anything that moves.

Group of 13 Rosy Tetra's? :hey:

if embers are proven FX5 proof then i would risk them i think.

has anyone had ember tetra in a tank with FX5 filters?
