Wild Red Spotted Peru Angelfish Tank

i find the Leopoldi very hard to get pics of so here is another poor pic of their progress. you can see the colour pretty well in the fins and the extensions on the tail fin quite well.

i have always used tap water and seachem prime, thats it mate. i dont like messing with softness and pH and to be honest never needed to. ive kepy discus, angels, tetras, stingrays, corys, plecs, loads of cichlids with no issues and they all apparently prefer softer acidic waters  ive even bred angels and corys in our tap water....

i just take my time when acclimatising them and buy my fish from decent shops as its worth paying the extra for. around Leicester the only shop i use is MA in Stapleton other than them i use Wharf in Notts. Wharfs water is pretty much the same as ours so its easier to acclimatise the fish, MA water is more acidic but ive never had any issues with their fish :good:

dont forget that most of the fish we buy unless stated wild caught will be from a breeding farm or local breeder and will have never seen their natural home or even been in their natural waters.

if you like a certain fish but are put off due to our water then dont be just take your time with new fish and buy good fish. go for it :good:

L128 added today :hyper:

a real P@H bargain believe it or not.... i was in there a while ago and got talking to the manager and he said yeah i can get them. i went in today to collect the pleco, they have had it in a tank at the back of the shop for 3 weeks now waiting for me! i asked the price and he said £40 :hey: i went and looked at it and found this stunning 4.5 inch blue phantom.

so it just goes to show P@H arent all that bad ;)

for once ive posted a pic thats not blurry...... :D

to call it between the greens and blues is a very difficult thing to do and i guess all mine are still young so when they reach their full size it may be easier to decide. it doesnt pick it up on the pics but the spots on the blue are a very pale sky blue and in the right light he looks awesome. ive always liked the greens ever since i saw one and they probably still get my vote depending on their colour, i prefer the darker greens with more vivid spots.
