Wild Red Spotted Peru Angelfish Tank

while i think ill leave you with a pretty decent pic of the tank after filling with water after the rescape :good:

Looking good after the rescape. I like the wood in the more central position.

The Angels are looking great aswell. How big are they now?

I LOVE this rescape. It's great that you added Bolivian Rams. Other then my Angels, I am loving the rams more then anything. Are you sure on not having Rummynoses? With your dark colors in there, they might just stand out prettily!

I was planning Rummys, Angels, and Bolivians in my own tank so I am a little biased. The wood in the center is a major improvement and it is looking really special now. Whats your substrate? I may just turn into a copycat after I move and find something similar.

Nice tank here Mattlee. Been a fan, but I'm a bigger one now :good:

I would be more worried about them being Angel proof. :/
well yeah there is that as well i guess..... but im sure my beautifull angels wouldnt do a thing like that

Remind me, how's the one with the hole in his side doing again?

Picture is great mate. I see the cardinals are back to normal. :D
cheers mate. yes the cardinals are now back to normal and adding 6 more didnt really make any difference  my holey fish is fine you leave it alone :p

thanks :)

im still really happy with the angels although they are quite aggressive to one another but dont touch anything else in the tank that ive seen. they are constantly bickering with each other which makes it almost impossible if its a hierachy or mating thing :/ they are roughly just over 3 inch bodied, 4 inch+ with tail and getting quiute tall now as well. i do have one that seems to be slightly behind all the others and hasnt grown as much but it has been a targeted fish and suffered a few scrapes from the others so i think its bottom of the pecking order. its probably one of the better coloured ones too so i hope it catches them up.....

wow thank you very much

i added 3 more bolivians to the group at the weekend giving me 10 in total now. they are such great fish to watch and the colour on them is superb. the first 5 i added a while back now are really big now and i have 2 breeding pairs in the tank from them :hyper:

my substrate is unipac limpopo sand but i do believe that they have changed it recently to an all black colour. mine has grains of black, grey and white all mixed together which kind of keeps the substrate darkish but at the same time adds a bit of light too. if that makes any sense

im still undecided on the last group of fish to add. it doesnt really have to be a tetra but i would like to keep it all americanised..... which is nice. ive even though of a few swordtails tbh....!

ive tweaked the new scape a bit as there were a few things that werent quite right.... a few more tweaks to do and a few gaps to fill now but im getting there....

thanks mate it really does show their colours off well even if they are blurry..... it also shows how big they have got too alongside the angels.

not really any closer to making the choice tbh..... been busy pulling my plants around instead

if the ember tetra were just a bit bigger then i think they would be the one but i just dont think its worth adding any to see if they survive the FX5's and angels  or is it.......?

the platinum/gold tetra do get a bit bigger and get to about neon size i think, but the ones available are only at 2cm so again they will possibly be too small to add at that size  unless i set up the cube tank (now with new light :hey: )to grow them on a bit.....

i have a good fish size related tank at the minute going from the large size of the angels down through size to the bolivian rams and then the cardinals with a few L-numbers and oto's among them. i dont really want anything too big bodied but cant have anything too small either which is making the choice more difficult.
