Who's Going On Holiday?!

So it's only me and TLM off on  holiday soon then?

I'll be heading to the south coast of Cornwall.  Haven't been for years and we mostly stayed on the north coast before.  Any fishy attractions in the area you can recommend, Fluttermoth?
I know neither is on actually on the south coast of Cornwall. but the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth is definitely well worth a visit and there's a Sealife place at Newquay, although I can't say what that's like as I've never been; keep meaning too!

I can vouch for the NMA at Plymouth, truly stunning aquarium, best I've been to in this country, superb Sandtiger Shark display, lovely reef display, with some blacktips and a turtle.

I think the Newquay place is now Blue Reef Aquarium, and if it's anything like the one in Portsmouth (which also started off as a SeaLife), it's reasonable, but a bit overpriced.

Thanks Fluttermoth.  If this weather keeps up I doubt I will drag the family off the beach but I'll keep them in mind!

I remember visiting an aquarium in Newquay when I was a little girl, it wasn't Sealife and I remember it was quite small.  Probably not the same one it was about three decades ago now!

Plymouth sounds enticing TLM!  I'll see what I can do!

Mate, it seriously is. If you've ever been to the London Aquarium (now rebranded SeaLife), Plymouth just about beats it. Best one I've been to so far is Nausicaa, in Boulogne (which is doable as a day trip from Reading, IMHO)

I went to the London Aquarium a few months ago and it was great.  I'd love to see the one at Plymouth - problem is it's probably a whole day outing and we've only got 5 days to spend in Cornwall.  At least I know exactly what to do if there's a rainy day! :)

Spending a month in Kentucky in October, hoping my automatic feeder does the job as I have no one to come round well no one i can trust.

We have really good neighbours on both sides, we all look after each other's cats when we're on holiday (well, when we used to have cats anyway) and now they look after our fish.  I tried to tell them only to feed the fish once a day because I was scared of over-feeding but they insisted on coming around twice a day   They're lovely though.
