White Spot And Clowns

Thanks for the update Skysters.

:good:

Update , water change in main tank

ammo ..still 0.25
nitrates 20-40
nitrates 0 yayy finally got this down
ph 7.6

so i have finally got nitrites down
and obviously i am still gonna to be having to water change now untill i get the ammo down .

this is what we couldnt get down to start off .. as since Ws its always been .25

how long will it take for the ammo too be 0 ?

one good thing now is my water looks much clearer than it was at weekend :)

Clown in hospital tank still alive ..he seams like hes fighting to stay alive which has really gave me some will for him .. altho he doesnt come out much in the day , he has been out swimming occasionally ..but that could be cos hes poorly and on his own in the hossy tank with only 4 neons ..but then who knows what he does at night lol

are you still treating the hospital tank? done any water changes on it? now you've added another tank to the mix, we've no idea what sort of exposure the fish is getting the medication or...well, anything....making it all sounds like a pointless/fruitless exercise....i'm lost.

both tanks get water changes daily , and medication ..

im treating 2 tanks , the one clown wasnt getting peace in one tank so moved him to hossy tank with neons , so both tanks are being done simutanously

they are both getting half dosage in the protazin with 50% water change daily ,

the clown in the main tank still has ws

and the clown and neons in hossy tank still have ws

to me i felt the one clown needed to be moved to get all the rest he wants rather than being poked about by the other clown and sucking loach they wouldnt leave him alone so moved him

so still more or less doing as u suggested but doing it with 2 tanks rather than 1 tank .. 50% water change daily , but rather than stopping sunday like u suggested im still medicating cos Ws is still in tanks ..

i'd stop the medication, the week without medication is downtime for your fish, to recover from the dosage before they go through another week of treatment. Medication causes stress, gotta give them time out.

ok :) will do that thanx tizer :)

I agree with tizer.
Also I would think about changing medication.

Hope do the fish look now?

The clown n neons in hossy tank still have ws the neons almost free from spot cept one or 2 of the 4 showing a spot or 2, obviously the clown is still very spotty but he isnt giving up blesh him , he still hides most the day in his shell , but comes out for a swim daily and a wonder about :)

the clown in main tank still havs ws on his what i call his flippers , his dorsal fin and tail , but i cant see any on body ..but now n then he still flashes . or sits in the air bubbles with his tail he is very very active and swims about either by him self or with sucking loach

the platties both look radient swimming with high dorsal fins up and no ws and the sucking loach doesnt have ws never seen any on him at all! :)

:)

if im looking at another treatment for them them what sort would u suggest thats ok for clowns ?

Anti whitespot medication by interpet. Check booklet instructions to see if you have to half dose with sensitive fish.
Only had whitespot once and I used anti whitespot medication by interpet. It was that long ago I have forgotten the instructions for the medication.

tyy hunny :) much appreciated :) i will stop protazin for a few days then start that :) i think it takes about 4 days too clear the meds that is already in the tank ? or longer?

You need to preform a gravel vac, 50% water change. Then add some new black carbon to filter for 2 days.
After 2 days is up you will than have to do the following -
Preform a gravel vac and water change, Remove black carbon from filter.
Raise temp, and increase aeration,. Then add the medication to the tank.

Thankyou Wilder for this info :) will start this tomorrow morning when i usually do my water changes :)

carbon does absorb the meds, but, with a daily water change of 50% , you will have diluted it so much, carbon wont be worth using.

After all this time and willingness for him to try and stay alive , my clowny friend just couldnt do it any more ..he passed away today . i will always remember how much he tried :)

ok being silly but i think he wanned to wait untill today ( birthday ) so i wouldnt ever forget him ..sweet baby!

Bless Him. So sad. You tryed your best and that's all you can do.
