White Spot And Clowns

ok .. :D loaches have been found :S we emptied the tank of gravel ornaments and plants :S to start over with tank and omg when he emptied the bucket with the ornaments in to clean them , the loaches were swirling in the sink ,,

so now i cant start from scratch but cleaning gravel and then half the tank with water and treat them :)

but good news they are found just hope they not too stressed with their roller coaster ride altho they are swimming around like nothing happened lol

just thought i would share this news :)

keep u informed if we save them xx

lols, i was wondering how long it was going to take for you to find them in the decor ;)

well im a happy bunny lol , they still flicking , so now im hoping that they survive this big clean out of the gravel ,only took half the water out and left the filters , will check daily for water levels and hope for the best , i couldnt put them in the smaller tank with the others cos they look worse than the clowns. wish me luck :)

Glad you found the loaches.
If you did move all your fish from main tank the parasite would of died off in the main tank. As the parasite can't survive without a host.

I got sick to death of stripping tanks down and starting again. It's a pain.
I lost a whole tank to NTD. So I do understand what you are going throw.

Good Luck.

I moved all the fish from the main tank at dinner time , and the loaches got put back in main tank at 3.3o ish hubby didnt know where to put them so he popped them back in there after their ordeal lol think he freeked when he saw them swimming in the sink lol ..im still going to dose the clowns in main tank half dose but keeping the really poorly fish in the hospital tank for now and start a propper dose , the clowns still have white spot but hopefully after a megga cleaning gravel frenzy lol i got rid of quite a lot of tormonts or tromonts what ever the orrible things are called :S

Thanx Wilder :) i never wanna go thru this again once its cleared , all fish i buy will be quarantined for a week or so ! before going back into big tank.

the thing is ..only got 2 clowns now :S i need more !! but i cant buy any till its cleared up . hope they will be ok as a twosome for a while :)

It's heartbreaking. There so much to learn aswell.

I think I would of panicked when I saw the loaches swimming in the sink.

Thanks you for the update. If any more problems don't hesitate posting.

Hope you seen some improvement in the fish soon.

Good Luck.

I didn't want to get into the Clown Loach are too big a fish for a 4 foot tank discussion, but it does need to be pointed out. If you do save them and you do decide to get more of a similar size, you will need to save up a few pennies for a larger tank in a few years time. They get big, very big and unfortunately you need to keep 6 or more for them to feel safe.

You can see some of my big ones here and i know i need to upgrade my 5 footer to a 6 or 7 next year. :)

thanx Tizer yes i do realize when they get bigger they will need a new home .. i will be buying a bigger tank when needed :) will need to break hubby gently with that info hahaha

im just a lil worried now that one of the 2 seams really poorly the other seams well ish Ws concidering. one comes out too feed ok when the other trys he swims a little then needs to rest but i noticed hes sometimes trying to lay on his side

not sure if hes just resting or im losing him :S .

so im a lil concerned that if he does Die the other will be on his own untill i can replace with more :S

I think clown loaches do rest on there sides.
Just check his colour to see if it look pale, or darker in colour.
How the fish breathing. Is it normal, or rapid?

seams too be breathing ok , but also he seams to be hiding all day too only popping in and out for about 15 mins max
his colour has been that of his colour since ws started .. but neither are vibrant as they can be

all i can do is hope :)

Are they still covered in whitespot?

Are they still covered in whitespot?

one is really covered , the poorly looking one .. the other one still has a cpl spots on his tail cant see any on body not like the megga poorly one :S
the one clown loach swims about heeps but still flashes a little.

in the hospital tank the platties are swimming with dorsal fins hi , and the 4 of the 5 remaining neons looking good ..all swimming about but one neon constantly hiding :S

i really dont know what too do with this medication now , as tizer suggested dose them till sunday which i contstantly have , in the big tank with the loaches they only been dosed half dose with water changes daily . in the hospital tank they have recieved full dose .. since been in hospital tank .. with daily water changes

then tizer said too just do daily water changes after sunday :) for the next 7 days :)

my question is ,, the really poorly loach really looks poorly

while the other loach still has a few spots :S and swims about frequently ..so

u know i moved the little fish too hospital , im wondering now if i shud move them back to big tank , they looking reasonable now :S and move the really poorly clown to the hospital :S what do u think , hes been out for about 10 mins this morning but got bk into hidy hole but the other loach likes to hide in the same hole with the megga poorly loach :S

i have both tanks regulated at the same temp

i really dont know what to do for the best , im trying so hard here to save them

ughhhhhhhhhhh ...this hobby was spose to relax me !! but stress factor or what lol

pic i just took

clown at the top is the healthier looking one

u can see the poorly one :S ontop of the sucking loach

and now the pic is took i can see a cpl spots on body of the healthier one

I'm tempted to say switch medications.

Only had whitespot once when I kept fish and I used anti whitespot by interpet.
Did the job but took 2 rounds of treatment.

I would say higher the dose, but the loaches don't seem to be handling the med to well at half dose.

I wouldn't move the fish as it might cause more stress.
