Guys

Saw bout 3 white spots on one of my Platys so I used Waterlife's PROTOZIN white spot treatment. Its a 4 day treatment to be used on days 1,2,3 and 6. I did this and the spots cleared up. However, I've now seen 2 more spots appear on the tail of my Platy.

Should I do another course of treatment or should I wait a while? Dont want an epidemic to break out and nor do I want to overload my fish with medicine. The last (4th day) days treatment i did was yesterday (Saturday).

This is all very annoying as my water params are fine (zero ammonia and zero nitrite). Not sure why this has occurred.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers.

;) Firstly follow my sig to diseases...now you must understand even though you can't see the white spot after treatment its still there...as it doesn't only live on the fish...so i would keep curing the tank for a week or so to kill all of the parasite ;)

Melafix isn't a treatment for ich though is it??

Ich has a lifecycle of like 21 days or something like that. Did you raise the temp in your tank at all? The heat will speed up the lifecycle, and if you ad aquarium salt, that will help kill them off.
