Oh have you had that too? Glad I'm not alone

no.. i have that....theres another now with nitrate.Bol said:Just in case anyone is confused, the "new" Aquarium Pharmaceutical Master Test Kit now contains these tests:
pH
High range pH
Ammonia (two reagents)
Nitrites
GH
And, just for info, the difference between the "new" and "old" test is ... they went to a salycilate ammonia test (two reagents instead of one) and ditched the KH test.
Not three versions.Bol said:Sounds like there's three versions now, then .
Personally, I wish they'd ditch the GH test, and put both nitrites and nitrates (and the two-reagent ammonia test) in the same kit -- I think that'd be a lot more useful.
Of course, once a tank is established, you'll probably use the nitrate test a lot more than the others, so ... /shrug.
It's always much much better to have the kit yourself and do the tests yourself. It saves you lots of time and allows you to monitor things much closer. It's not really complicated. You just go out and buy the tests you need. There is a redsea master kit that contains everything or you can piece together your own kit. IMO anyone who is remotely serious about wanting to keep healthy fish should own their own test setup. You basically need at a minimum PH, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate. GH andKH are optional.Zenn said:I am actually releaved when i was told my pet store does this for free as long as i bring down a sample of my tank water, so it saves me going out to buy the test kit and doing it myself...
The dry tab kit has both. The liquid doesn't though the liquid is the most cost effective. In my above posts I was refering to the liquid test kit which does not contain nitrate test unless its the saltwater variety or if you buy the pro kit which is $57+Bol said:Well, now I am thoroughly confused.
Happen to have a link to that product, sscamatt? The only master test kit I can see on petsolution's site that has both nitrite and nitrate tests is the fasTest kit.
