Morning all,

I'm currently feeding my BN a combination of algae wafers and cucumber (peas go in the tank as well, but not sure if they are being touched).

What other veg is suitable for BNs to graze on?

How often do you feed the veg?

Hi I have been in touch with a guy who breeds bristlenose and he feeds them frozen peas. I have tried mine with that and they are not that fussed. I give mine frozen guccini and they seem to love it.

cucumber is not the best stuff, too watery.

courgette is 100 time s better. and i feed it at least once a week. take 2-3 days to eat

You can feed things like cucumber, courgette, potato, butternut squash, pea's, apple amongst a few others, be careful not to leave in to long, things like cucumber and potato tend to degrade quite quickly. I put them in when lights out and normally take them out around 12-15 hours later and then just replace on lights out again.

Zucchini seems to be their favorite, but I give them lettuce, kale, cucumber, & butternut squash from time to time. A slice of zucchini this size is gone in just over a day.

Lettuce is the only thing on that list that my wife usually keeps in the fridge, so I'll give that a whirl, thanks!

Just want to vary it as much as possible.

how do you prepare the potato? Just wash it and add it raw?

I seem to have a very brash specimen who is out and about all day, so dont have to worry about feeding after dark.

Peel and nuke for a few seconds, you can give it just peeled and raw just give a good clean. The night feeding was more t gives you an easy estimated time to remove once it's been in for so long lol, still they will probably feed more at night anyways despite them been out and about most of the day :)

I'll add some raw (no microwave) then. Thanks for the tip!

you can add tinned peas, carrots and anything like that too. just check the salt content first.

ahhh good, carrots are always in the fridge. Cheers.

again, any prep for the carrots or just cleaned and raw?

Carrots are pretty tough and they will probably mostly eat a ring around the core and not really touch the outside part. Still, just cut off a slice and throw it in with something to make it sink or you could boil it for a couple of minutes but i don't bother.
