Which Oddballs To Get?

K, now I think I'll keep 4 Bichirs since i dropped the Arowana, and I'll add:
1x Endlicheri Bichir (I know they're rare, but I got a source thats selling it.)

Time to look for a tank, and then hint it to my parents :shifty:
Thx, for all the advise so far.

i have a fire eel which will not tollerate other eels at all so im not sure that 3 of them will work in one tank.
clown knives can also be aggresive fish.
but saying all that it depends on individual personalities so a lot of it is trial and error imo
what size tank have you decided on getting then??

Well i've had many fish, but as of right now, I only have 1 tank with:
1x Black Skirt Tetra
4x Lemon Tetras
6x Neon Tetras

K, in the other thread (in the catfish section) I posted basically my final stock list:

K, here is probaly my final stock list as of now:

Arowana:
1x Black Arowana

Bichirs:
1x Ornate Bichir
1x Endlicheri Bichir

Eel:
1x Fire Eel

Rays:
3x Leopoldi Stingray
or
3x Motorole Stingray (Marble)

Catfish:
1x Tigrinus Catfish
or
1x False Zebra Shovelnose (Brachyplatystoma Juruense)

Now, the question is, in which order should i put them at? And at what size should I purcahse them.

I was thinking purcahse the fish at maybe 5-6".
And I should probaly cycle with some other fish, from my other tank. Then once I feel that its cycled, I'll add a Ornate Bichir. Maybe after a week, when I feel everything is fine, i'll add a Endlicheri Bichir. Then i'll wait maybe 2 weeks, and add a Black Arowana, about 4-5". Smaller than the bichirs. Then i'll add the fire eel, about 4-5 days after the arowana, and i'll try to get it at about 7-8". Then i'll wait about 4 weeks, and add 2 female stingrays at about 10". If they do fine, then in about 5 days i'll add a male stingray at 8". I'll wait maybe 4 more weeks and add a Tigrinus Catifsh (probaly at 6-7")

I know it's better to get a larger specimen when it comes to big catifsh. But, if i get a larger specimen then it would threaten the other fish.

Does all that sound good??

stocking sounds sweet :good:
just make sure the fish cant eat eachother and things should be fine.have you ordered the tank yet??

No i havent ordred the tank yet.
I'm still looking for a better deal, but I plan to order the tank so it comes around christmas.

right so now you have your stock list then maybe you should look at how much its going to cost you

tigrinus cat $500
3 x leopoldi rays $4,000
marble motoro $500
black arowana $200-300
fire eel they are cheap compaired to the above
birchers they are cheap compaired to the above

then lets just look at the price of the tank and filtration $2000-3000

you are a very lucky man if your pearants are going to spend $10,000 on a xmas :D

Wow all those fish are expensive!!! For arowana I would go with a silver because they are a lot cheaper.

why dont people get the tank then post about what fish they want?????all these posts always end up with i want a 10 billion gallon then i got a 20 gallon lol.i dont mean to appear rude, but,if your parents are going to buy you all of the fish and a 200+gallon tank then brilliant, but i just dont see it.

its the bit with im going to add this fish then that fish 2 days later then that fish 7 days later that made me :D

like all the fish on the list are easy to find and can be added when needed trust me a collection like what you have listed takes years to build up not weeks

if leopoldi or scobina rays were that easy to find their would be a lot of happy ray keepers around
