Which Do You Use The Most?

I generally use common names, but I keep the scientific names handy. Unfortunately, that doesn't help me that much - even though there's so many fish stores for such a small city, three out of five consistently mislabel fish regardless of which name I bring in.

Yes agree.... I know (most) the scientific names, but talking to Joe Soap, It's much more "user friendly" to just say "Oscar" as apposed to "Austronatus Ocilliatus" or something to that effect.... ye get my drift....??

It just depends on what fish I'm talking about. For commonly stocked community fish such as neon tetras, etc. I use common names. I'm mostly interested in African Cichlids and almost always use scientific names with them.

Common, especially in the LFS......... sorry guys, just kiddin'

i tend to use the commom name when talking about it and scientific name when im buying it so there wont be a mix up
