Hi There,im just trying to get an idea of what everybody else uses to supplement the bio process and condition the water!
I use Nutrafin Cycle for my bio process, adding 1 capful once a week after a 25% water change
I use Nutrafin Aqua Plus to condition my water, again adding 1 capful per week after a 25% water change

Is this stuff any good? Ive always used it so just wondered if theres anything that works a little better out there,Thanks in advance :hey:

I use AquaSafe water conditioner. Otherwise, never used any other additives or dosing on my tanks. SH

I only add ferts for plants (Seachem)

I use Amquel+ every now and then if I do a large water change or have a mini-cycle pop up.

That's about it

Did a fishless cycle, so didn't have to worry about the bioload, and I use AquaSafe for conditioner.

Hmm thanks for the info, seems im wasting my money on Nutrafin Cycle then which is approx £12-£15 for a 500ml depending where you go and ive noticed that quite a few ppl on here use the Aquasafe products,if anyone does use Nutrafin cycle or thinks im wasting my time please post a reply, once again thanks fellow fish friends :fun:

The only additives I add are Flourish for the plants and prime for the chlorine and chloramine from a water change. No other additives other than NLS food only.

I use Interpet dechlorinator or sometimes StressCoat. And Interpet plant food.

As for bacteria stuff, it only works with products like BioSpira where the bacteria have been kept refrigerated all the time. I rely on good water management (weekly water changes, pruning dead leaves, not overfeeding, moderate stocking levels) and the bacteria naturally in the water. Like many others on the forum I did a fishless cycle (though have cycled with fish in the past).

If your tank is cycled, you do not need to add anything to supplement the bio process unless you are adding a large number of fish at one time. Cycle, by the way, is garbage IMO. "Stability" by Seachem is a great product. Prime is very good for conditioning. It removes chlorine and chloramine. It also (unintentionally) neutralizes nitrites and nitrates.

Thanks peeps i now know what the answer to buying anymore is!!! :D Yes my tank is cycled, just wondered if i was wasting my cash thats all

Hi, Hagen cycle from AQUATICS ONLINE 500ml £10-99 so if your paying those prices your being ripped off.

I only use Stresscoat from API. It dechlorinates, de-chloramines and and renders heavy metals harmless etc. etc. :)
