i've got a corner tank i'm currently raising fry in, but i want to add plants and the current hood doesnt have a light. i want to replace the hood at some point as it's a little old, but my main problem is i need a light/lights asap. where would be the best place to get a cheap clip on light (the hood has no fittings but does have 2 small holes where i assume a light could be screwed on, but i'd rather clip/stick one onto the glass itself) or what kind of price would i be looking at for a hood with light for a 2foot corner tank? i'd love to make one but don't have the tools or the talent lol. any help appreciated, thanks :)

The problem you are going to have is "what kind of corner tank"? There are many brands that sell corner tanks, and many non-branded items around. What fits one, will doubtless be just to big or small for another. If you want to buy one, I'd take the one you have down to a large LFS and try it on the corner tanks they have, if it fits one, then you can get the lid that matches that tank.

Lashing up a simple light is no problem of course. A single lamp though, will never really cut it for a planted tank. There are pinned topics on how to build a hood - it is pretty easy - if you don't have the tools, can you smile sweetly at someone who does?!

:look: pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease? :look:

will keep practising lol
for the size of the tank and the amount of plants i'd have in there i doubt i'd need more than 1 strip light, the lil clip on things i'd probably have to have a few though, will post up a pic after work later see if that helps :)
