Now, if you travel about 20 minutes from the ruins, there is a series of Cenotes (large sinkholes). Each one has a different looking molly - in one area there are blue mollies on one side of the road, and ones with scarlet dorsals on the other. There's a shallow cenote where the mollies have scarlet and black in all their fins - stunning fish. They've evolved apart because of the zero oxygen in the underground rivers. They can't travel from cenote to cenote.
