What's It Like In The Bedroom..?

My son sleeps with an eight inch oscar looming over him; sometimes wakes him up by spitting gravel at him, lol! I have a 220l peaceful community at the end of my bed with an 2000lph APS filter, and it does make a low hum, but nothing that would keep anyone except the massivley senstive awake.

There's very few things nicer in this world than sitting in bed with good book and a mug of cocoa and a few beautiful fish to look at

I would have to agree, My Oscars are in my Fish Room I did consider putting them in the tank next to my bed along with my Giant Gourami named george but i freaked out with the waking up to georges gaping mouth.

Ive got a 270l in my room filter is silent and i find it really relaxing just lye.back with my headphones on and watch.

Mine is in my room. I do hear the pump for my aiirstone but that's it. It doesn't bother me. I love it when I'm all cosy in bed and the light is on in the tank. Highly recommended

Lol at the oscar and your son. I agree it's nice and cosy having a tank in your room. I have the lights off and put the light on in the tank and it's similar to a glowing fire it's so comforting.

The only things I can hear from my 2 tanks is the additional powerhead I put in that I can't always get to sit right and the water lapping against the side neither of which are loud enough to disturb me.

I have mine in my room. I think it all depends on the filter really. Some are silent...some aren't.

You'd get used to the sound of the filter in the same way you get used to the sound of a clock ticking or cars driving past if your live on a main road.

I forgot to mention the G3 & G6 external filters from Fluval after browsing the web i have decided to run the G6 model on my Aqualab System and i have chosen this filter due to the almost silent running sound. Also one of the best and definitely the most technologically advanced model I have come across.

I have a 72 G (272.5 L) in my bedroom with a Fluval 405 filter. About 2 feet from my side of the bed and it makes no noise what so ever. I love watching them. It is parallel to the bed so I can always see the full front of it when I laying in on a Saturday morning ( I can never sleep past 7 am, but I do make myself stay in bed for a bit so I can say I "relaxed" a bit!)
