I work at a land based/ animal care college where we are working on doing up all the enclosures to make it more interesting for students. We are getting a new tank system installed soon and i have some ideas for stock that i want to put in them already, but we had a huge 6ft tank donated on Friday. Going on measurements it can hold 366 litres of water (cant remember what that is in gallons). We are considering stocking it with Discus and possibly some cardinal tetras and rummynose.
We are having to use equipment that we have lying around to set it up. Im not sure on the flow rate of them but it will be run on two external filters. There will be bogwood and it will hopefully (if i can get the budget) be quite heavily planted.

We considered getting some Oscars but already have some Piranha and arent really interested in any other predatory/ carnivorous fish like that. I wouldnt mind adding 5 or 6 haplochromis moorii but we are aiming for something with a bit more colour and variety for the students.

So, what would you do with it? Stock and plant wise (if necessary)

I have a picture i can upload later, my phone wont let me upload to photobucket :(

red tailed sharks and silvers sharks with big red rainbowfish. lots of colour.

Rainbows are lovely I have to agree. Never kept them myself though. What's the exact measurements of the tank? Bala sharks (silver) need to be in groups of 6+ and grow large. A 6ft tank is not big enough for them IMO.
Stocking tanks are really down to personal choice at the end of the day. There are many, many fish out there for you to choose from but if you could say what you like/dont like people on here could tell you more stocking suggestions from then on.

Hope this helps a wee bit.
