LOl just curious have a 20g stocked with all of one molly, have no idea what I really want to do with it.

Heres a pic-

What would you do with this tank?

Change the gravel to something more natural. That's what I would do.

haha...n3ont3tra...I thought the exact same thing!!

Well yes, natural gravel would look nice alright. As with the fish...I like guppies so put them in there too!! haha.

$30 for a bag....OUCH!! I got a bag and a half (10kg) for €18 so thats about US$23.

LOl I wish, the only play sand I've ever managed to find turns into suspended muddy particles, that don't disappear no matter how long you filter it or let it sit. Nah I dont mind the gravel, once the java moss grows enough I can cover it and instead will have a nice green mound LOL.

Okay, that is java moss, then? I would tie it to a HUGE piece of slate, one that covers about half the tank's footprint and wait for it to fill in. That's what I'm doing with my 29g and it'll be awesome when it's done. :hyper: LOL.
The only difference is I couldn't get a big piece of slate so I get some smaller ones and sort of put them next to each other like a puzzle.

Since your tank is empty...only 1 fish. I suggest that you add more fish. Oh~come on, the molly is lonely.

Try add in:-
- surface level fish such as guppies
- mid level fish such as tetras (neon preferred)
- bottom level fish such as corrys

Then your tank will look more occupied.

Lol that was what I was asking, as far as I manage to get is I don't want live bearers, I don't need a gazillion fry LOL. Dont want oddball type fish either, I dunno LOL, was wondering what other people would do with the tank, so we've established hide the hot pink gravel and add more fish, anyone else? LOL

not being nasty, but i would put the molly in a seperate/quarintine tank, and then totally sort that 20G tank out, redo it all.

take the water out, plants, substrate, rocks/ornaments.

Idea:
Sand with gravel markings... i.e sand with gravel paths
some nice tall plants, not sure on the plant side of things, ask someone for suggestions
1 big homemade/store rock cave
1 small homemade/store rock cave
air pump?
*whats that white stuff near the filter?* get a new filter.

The Fish:
Obviously put back your original Molly, and by the looks of things you have a male, correct me if im wrong.
3 Female mollys
6 guppies? 2male 4female
10 neon or cardinal tetras
3-6 corys of any kind, i personally like the Three-Line corys.
a few shrimp...
and that should do you...
you could get a couple of betta's 1 male 1 female of course...

and be prepared for eggs and fry :D

make sure you have 1 or 2 5 gal tanks for quaritine and breeding/fry

Has anyone asked about water params yet? IME mollies can be quite fussy and aren't really going to be happy in the water that will be right for neons. I did keep the two together years ago, but it wasn't a huge success. Assuming that your water is hard enough (or can be hardened) to make the molly happy, I would add some more mollies and maybe some guppies, they'd be happy with the same params. Don't think you need worry about top/bottom dwellers, IME mollies and guppies roam everywhere.
