Ive got 4 of these. 1 is red and white.

Im hoping the majority of you say shubunkin cross. I dont think wakin as the tails are too long, except for one which has a short stubby tail so could be wakin.

I need fish that can over winter in the pond in scotland but i can at a push over winter them indoors.

You can see the double tail in the last pic better.

I dont know many types of goldfish but whatever it is, it is amazing! You have a beautiful fish! Please let us know what you find out!

Thanks Dean.

It has a twin tail though so not sure, but I think its aminly shubunkin so will see how it goes over winter.

body shape and colouration certainly points to one parent/grandparent being a shubunkin
the double tail leads me to belive either a wakin or jikin in the mix too
I'd go with jikin due to the length of the finnage on the tail.

whatever it is, great fish mate :good:

Thanks Paul, i never thought about Jikin either as the tail isnt set right, but it is the same body type. OO eck i dont know.
Jikins are really hardy as well so they should be ok for the pond.

my only concern with adding a double tailed fish to a pond would be his swimming speed, ie
at feeding time is he fast enough to actually get any food?

if that is not a problem, then go for it mate :good:

All 4 have this tail type so no problem there. They are really fast and swim like goldfish rather than fantails that wobble through the water. Will get pics from above and from the side today.

This first one could be a wakin but not sure
