fishprotector, I've actually been quite interested in the hillstream loach before. Do they get big? What do you mean by footprint?

The footprint is the area of the base of the tank, which is important for hillstream loaches as this is where they spend a lot of their time and create their territories. Most species max out between 2 and 3 inches, but some larger. Many are rare enough for people not to fully know. Have a look at my hillstream tank log to see exactly what I mean.
