What the heck is buddah doing in an LFS?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Today, I went to the LFS. I asked them where to find stuff to cycle my tank. All of a sudden, buddah pops up,

"you must not use chemicals to cycle your tank. Cycling tanls up to 3 months, however, one must have patience. Nitrites only pop up when cycling is happening. After cycling, you shall be rewarded with the gift of no nitrites."

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? First of all, is ANY of this info true? Second, how on earth did the LFS turn into a buddist temple for wannabe buddists who are current gangsters? WHERE IS THIS WORLD HEADING?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Whats your problem? Are you on medication? The guy was just trying to help you out because most of the cycling products don't work very well and most people that buy them don't have any idea what they are doing with the hobby.

I think your somewhat right
A cycle DOES take a few weeks and nitrites CAN pop up anytime, for example lets say a fish dies and goes unnoticed that could cause a spike, or an excessive fish or food load could also cause a spike, or lack of cleaning,rotting plants...the list goes on & on

An "established tank" takes about 6 months to a year, but even established tanks can have a sudden nitrite problem without proper care

ya know what...please don't take this the wrong way but I'm tired of people criticizing the way others post. Commander isn't calling people names or insulting anyone on this forum so why bother commenting at all if you have no useful advice to give.

OMG. I feel like half the forum hates me and the other half supports me. It just feel so wierd. Only Elvis didn't write random stuff. Now I'm on medication? If I recall clearly, someone relied to my post saying they were gonna send me a box full of anti-depressants. Ok, I see the problem here. Commander does obviously need help pursuing this hobby. We are here to help.. My take on it is the questions ask may seem a bit redundant sometimes. And that's from many members not just Commander. A little bit of researh goes a long way. And by saying that I mean going to different sites, reading, maybe taking notes, getting prepared, more research. Not just asking every question in these forums.. You'll find 8 times out of ten the question has already been asked somewhere in here and answered. Use the search feature on the forums and tell it to search more than the past 30 days. The "Buddah" in question maybe be representing like some of the forumites here. It's all about approach. Gather your thoughts, think about your objective and research it first.. If you can't find an answer Then post a question. And statements like "Second, how on earth did the LFS turn into a buddist temple for wannabe buddists who are current gangsters?" aren't going to help you any. I'm not trying to beat up on you Commander because I understand you are young and may not use the best choice of words. We know what you are trying to say, you are just a bit extreme with it. Tame your posts down a hair and you'll get alot better response. Remember you're dealing with may experienced aquarist that are likely twice your age. Carry on. And like WuvmyBetta said, if you don't like his posts, you don't have to read or reply. But I would still like you(commander) to get to the point where Everyone is willing to help you.. Try pm'ing me or someone else willing to help.. You can always try the chat room too.. Take it easy on him he's just a kid

Well, it isn't THAT bad. Just a lil violence in my wording. I got sent to the guidance councelor because of my violent writings. They suddenly jumped to the conclusion that I was a "disturbed child" because of my violent writings. They also assume I am a dark disturbed person cause I never dress in anything but black. Wierd huh? All I do is dress in all black and "your a disturbed child"

Then I come home. "Why do you care so much about the fish a bowl is fine." "You said you were gonna take a shower. Your not in the shower. You walked up to me and told me you were taking a shower. WHY AREN'T YOU THERE!?!?!? Your downstairs. ooooo, eeeee,oooo, aaaaaa." Mom what are you doing? "I said go upstairs. It's what you said you would do."

Turning this into a psychology thread, I have to say that violent writings and thoughts as an adolescent is cause for concern. "Disturbed Child" may be a bit harsh, but it should be looked into.. THese are the easiest and most carefree days of your life.. You'll have many things down the road to truely upset you and get angry about.. Seriously. Next time you get mad, see how good you are at calming down and not dwelling on what made you mad. Stress stinks.. So does love but hey, pick your poison

by posting you'll get the attention and answers you need, don't throw the forums into a fit and keep writing nonsense things. we understand you're upset and confused, but you don't need to go about acting immature and strange. in real life i'm pretty immature and strange, but look -point- it's called restraint. if you wanna yell because you're getting stressed out about this, do it in your room, not on the forums.

as for the disturbed child bit, you're not nearly as bad as half the people i know. just calm down a bit and try to hold back any freaky thoughts, calm down and get a sense of humor! if someone starts insulting you take the higher road and insult them intelligently, don't start swearing at them and telling them you're going to kill them or whatever. that *is* disturbing.

I know what you mean wuv - but sometimes telling someone that their posting style is irritating is good advice.

If someone habitually posts in a way that ordinary board members find annoying - more and more of them will do exactly what you said - stop clicking on that persons threads. Thus the cross section of opinion and experience received in response to a question is reduced, until ultimately it disappears completely.
