I don't know anything about moss. I have no idea why I chose to click on buy but I did. I got flame moss on a rock (the rock is about the size of a 50¢ piece). I laughed for a good 5 minutes at this rock with a few strands on it. I've put it in the tank and the strands are starting to stand up but I have absolutely no idea what to do when it starts growing. I am having a ball with the small problems I've come across and thoroughly enjoyed trying to solve them. (Hmmmmm, it's time for a water change). So any one with experience in this field, a few hints would be greatly appreciated. Oh yes, I bought another moss that I can't pronounce it starts with Swas -and I sloppy glued it to chulla wood
Thank you

Most mosses are very slow growing and are low light tolerant . Don't get impatient watching for them to grow. They take forever. I have Vesicularia dubyana Java Moss. Have had it for nearly a year and it hasn't grown much at all. I had it in too strong a light and it got a little algae choked but swishing it around in some change water helped. Along those same lines I just so happened to watch a video today on Dan's Fish about culturing Scuds. These are freshwater shrimp also called Gammarus. He says they are the best algae eater ever and when he gets a plant that's overcome by algae he puts it in their tank. He also warned that Scuds will eat Java Moss right down to the nubs so don't leave it with them too long.

@ancient11 That other plant you mentioned ? Maybe you are thinking of Subwassertang. I have never seen it personally but I read posts here and there and people really think it's the cats meow.
Yes that is it, I bought both because they said the shrimp love it. I thought maybe I might get to see my shrimp more often. Oh well, it was a valiant effort anyway---smile. I just don't know what to do with it but time may cure that.
