Was sitting here reading some threads on TFF when suddenly Cold Play came on the radio playing Clocks

Now dont get me wrong I'm sure this is lots of people's idea of a great piece of music :good: however for me it brings back memories of chemotherapy and makes me feel physically sick. I had chemo in 2002, surely I can get over this........so I take myself off to Youtube

Thinking come on girl, you can do this, find the video, thought that might help, I have never heard the words before because I ALWAYS switch it straight off as soon as the piano solo starts.

So there I am, trying not to be sick, watching the words, OMG they are even singing about Cancer (of course their not, well I don't think they are!).......

I failed, so I suppose I am destined to have those memories flood through me every time I hear it

So got me wondering, is there any piece of music, smell etc which makes a memory flood back to you?

I will leave with a lighter memory of JuicyFruit chewing gum, the smell reminds me of many happy days walking home from school with mates - over 35 years ago

Most of Mika's first album brings back strong memories of my ex-boyfriend and our trip around Europe in 2007. I love the album but I have to ask people to turn it off if I hear it.

shandy and kit kats remind me of one of my great nans as she gave us a tin of shandy and a kit kat every time we went

and tcp reminds me of my other great nan as she put it on every injury (it hurts in cuts)

the band M People reminds me of my first girlfriend. I hated the music she loved it and I wasn;t a huge fan of hers either but I had to stick with her to get something out the way!!!

playdo reminds me of being a kid as well

The smell of rain just at the begining in summer always reminds me of being a child and going daily to the beach, and fresh cut grass, those were the days.....

Savage garden always reminds me of my 1st love, she was mad on them,i took her to see them in london

Then the puff daddy song "missing you" reminds me of being in spain and learning of my grans death, every time i hear that song even now it nearly brings a tear to my eye, she was an amazing woman.

Hearing no use for a name reminds me of having beer bought for me and talking to a rep from a label I met when at one of their shows.

Watching my daughter reminds me of things I did when I was younger.
