What Heater Should I Get

Just wanted to know what heater id be better of getting for my tank a 50W or 100W. The dimensions of my tank are as followed:

100cm Long x 40cm Depth x 45cm

Thanks

Tetratec EX1200 or Eheim classic 2217 would do the job

i dont mind what filter i get a decent bog standard internal filter that does the job would do me just fine!

In that case i would get the fluval u4 internal filter, might cope with the bioload as long as you don't overstock. Comes with ceramics as well and all the filter media, only slight downside is that the filter floss and the carbon pads are sewn together so you have to have carbon in at the same time as floss

com again! sorry im a newbie...none of that makes sense to me! sorry

lol, well the fluval u4 is an internal filter made by fluval, it part of the new series and you can alter the flow through highwater, mid water and low water. There is a fair amount of room for bacteria to grow and there are ceramic rings which bacteria grow on really well. So thats the biological filteration sorted, and the mechanical filteration is good too, two large coarse filter pads and there is filter floss (really fine filter media thats just there to take out the small bits of crap in the water). The only problem is that this fine floss is sewn to carbon which is similar in textuurs and size but its black and it is used to remove medicines form the tank.

o ryt! i see...

Biological- good bacteria that break down ammonia and nitrite nauturally as they appear
chemical- carbon, zeolite that are chemicals that remove certain things from the water(not neccesary)
Mechanical- removing pyhsical particles, like dust, poo, debris- have fine "filter" floss to make the water pearly clean :)

FLUVAL 2 any good for my tank

Nope,
I would personally go for an external on a tank this size however if you wanted to go for an internal then you would be looking at somethin like he Fluval 4+ (or i think the new Fluval U3?)

I think the U series have a lower volume rating than the old +series have, so i think the 4 would apply to both series of filter.

If that makes sence lol

ok i think ill go for the fluval 4+ does anyone know where they sell these cheaply!?

IMO there wouldnt be enough flow for your tank, if you want to avoid algae, ammonia needs processing quicker so higher circulation and turnover is a must!
IMO you should definitely go for an external or 2 internals

2*fluval 3+'s would be sufficient

yep, on a big tank internals arent up to it so you need more
