What are you doing today?

65 indoors is maybe time for a fire at night, right now it is a lovely morning temp and if I can get the house down to 70 I'm thrilled. We cleaned a small pond today. Ran a bid that turned out to be just a consult, I don't clean pondless full of chemicals that will remove my skin. Like having skin. I'm still tired from Sunday's plant sale. We have a liner to install in the morning. My back yard pond top basin is still leaking from when granddaughter and I went fish hunting and I scratched a corner with a milk crate. Because water washes away soil, the 2 times i've patched it, the stretching of the liner has caused the patch to fail. Going to have to open the top, I got half a cubic foot of sand to put underneath that corner to take the stress off. then I'll patch it again, probably after work tomorrow. going to get some dinner.

Neighbor dropped off sausage and bacon just now from the hog he raised. His is a young family learning how to be self sufficient and he is extremely proud of his new knowledge. I do not blame him and look forward to sampling his effort tomorrow.

Today I will finish the dozer work. Serviceable road is finished, and grading of flat land is about done. Will do the berm today. They retrieve the dozer at about 4 PM so no dawdling.

Thanks for the tip Whistleblower.

Just had my annual flu shot. I went together with my mom and my niece. All three of us have chronic health problems. So, we decided to go together.

So do i. Hoping someone gets a deer or a boar this year
I really need to get down south and bow hunt for feral hogs/wild boars some day. Besides the excitement of hunting a potentially dangerous animal, I have a culinary interest in wild pork.

Berm is finished. I finished at about 3:30 and they picked the dozer up at 4 PM sharp. Two 7-yard loads of rough gravel have made the "road" better than primitive. It is amazing how much work a small dozer can do. Next week we will seed the berm with a mix of buffalo grass and fescue to hopefully help hold it in place. There is a relatively deep hole in the brook that we can attach my brothers trash pump to for watering the seeds. Keeping fingers crossed my work holds up.

Drained 3 of my tanks. Looking forward to rescaping them. This time instead of putting a black trash bag as the background, I painted them black. Looks pretty good.
Have you ever tried window vinyl? This is what I use on all my tanks:

changing a pond liner day 2. Original was intalled by former home owner, had to reshape and raise the perimeter... But it's almost done
