What are you doing today?

Oh and idk why I didn't say this along with that. I don't do it anymore. I outgrew it 😅
It was something I did in elementary school but every now and then I open the cap to a sharpie or something and there is that nostalgic aroma that reminds me of that weird thing I did 😂

Today I am trying to accommodate the young dog our 20 year old is fostering but has finals and is quickly realizing...dogs can be alot...especially dogs coming from a bad situation. Our old girl isn't keen on this young female being here...but so far, so good.

You would need to factor the literacy rate of each country by it's population to be accurate unless they all have about the same pop.

Please, don't make me redo all my work, I beg of you. I BEG OF YOU 😂

I have just fed the fish. The main tank has a lid made of chipboard/particleboard/whatever it's called these days and it is heavy. I lost control of the flap while lowering it and I'm not sure if it trapped my finger as it closed or hit it on the way down, but my left little finger hurts. A lot.

I can move it, it's not swollen and there's no sign of bruising (yet) so I don't think it's broken. I hope. It just hurts.
Sorry about the hand. We need to make something that will be around water all it's life- lets use sheets of this sawdust held together by glue....

Watched a fascinating documentary last night about Alice Crimmins of New York. Most have never heard of her but she faced a grave misjustice in 1965.

For those who feel that todays legal system leaves alot to be desired, read her story...it is frightening how one tracked and biased the legal system was back then.

Alice was completely innocent but the narrow minds of the time convicted her from the moment they set eyes upon her just cos she didn't conform to what was expected of a wife and mother in the 1960's.

It makes me wonder how many other women faced a similar situation back then....and how things haven't actually changed that much in recent times.

Alice's story is a tragic one but I seriously doubt that she was the only woman treated like she was. Her story was largely buried due to the other significant issues facing the US in the 1950's and 1960's.

Hopefully times like Alice experienced will never return.......but until we all accept our mistakes and our history - no matter how uncomfortable that history might be - the door will always be open to those mistakes of the past being repeated in the future.

Reminds me of a case when I lived in Florida. Three young girls accused a guy of raping them and he was convicted. After he served 11 years in prison the girls came forward and admitted that he had never done anything. He was released but absolutely nothing happened to the girls. In my opinion they needed to at least serve the same 11 years in prison.

I'm not exactly sure what it's made of. It's about half an inch thick and covered with a wood effect plastic covering. The stand is made of the same stuff. I've had it for almost 9 years and the only sign of anything happening is where I hit the corner of the stand with the vacuum cleaner and broke the edge

Looking at my finger this morning it looks as though the lid hit the end on the finger and pulled it sideways. The knuckle is swollen and if I gently push the tip of the finger out sideways it hurts but if I push it towards the other fingers it doesn't.
I use a laptop and typing is painful and this post has taken me ages as I have to keep stopping :S

Same 11 years and give financial compensation for suffering. That's 11 years of his life he can't get back. Of course, no amount of money can really replace the worth of that but definitely needed I would say.
I heard a story not as severe but still the same concept. A girl asked a guy in high school for him to date her and he refused. She threw a fit and then to get "revenge" she framed him for r*pe.
He got sent to jail for two years I believe it was. Then she admitted to him never doing it....
Woman face a ton of discrimination, I will say there is no denying that. But so do men sadly. And its a lot of the time, men who respect others that get hurt in these cases.
There are a TON of cases where a woman has accused a man of sexual assault and that man has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong. Its so sad. And as a male I am scared about that. I would never assault anyone and definitely not a woman, but I'm afraid of what others might accuse me of and then believe.
Its sad because woman don't really know the power they DO HAVE in courts with sexual assault charges. Everyone gets on the woman's side because they are going to believe her. And the guy that did nothing wrong? Everyone hopes he rots in hell because of something he didn't do.
Now of course, there ARE PLENTY of cases where the guy was at fault. Those are honest cases and that guy deserves every bit of time in jail he was convicted for.
This is another reason I'm glad I'm out of public highschool. Less chance of anything stupid like that happening...

The unfairness is on both sides. BUT, in my opinion, women are more oppressed. Especially when it comes to other things. But as far as sexual assault? Women have almost full power in the courtroom then.... Its sad the culture we live in. We treat others differently because they aren't the same gender or their not the same race. It all goes back to, "Why can't we all just look around and see human beings with feelings and real lives". Not just the external shell we see and make assumptions of, not considering the affect we could have on them.

You should take a break from the forums then and let it heal... Don't make the pain worse by typing. I hope you feel better!

I can read posts, but just not reply  Or type with one hand which is what I'm doing now that's why it's slow.

The strange thing is that I can work my cross stitch with no problem, I thought that's what would hurt most, but it's not.
