Happily I just got done breaking down my stove and cleaning. I run the burners and drip pans through my dish washer and scrub the surfaces. Usually no big deal but it was a bit of a mess this time due to a deep fry oil fire Monday. Fire was no issue as I just turned off the burner and removed the pan of oil followed by tossing a towel to smother the flames. The mess was due to the oil over flowing the pan and making a mess. As I've worked professionally as a cook dealing with an oil/grease fire isn't a big deal and easy to put out as long as you keep your cool. If this ever happens to you just remember one VERY important fact. Never ever, ever, ever, try to put out an oil/grease fire with water as the water will actually just spread the fire. Always just smother with a towel.
I do a fair amount of deep frying and actually have a 2 basket deep fryer with a 4 liter capacity but seldom use as I live alone and it is just easier to put some oil in a deep sauce pan when doing just for myself. I may rethink this and get a bunch of oil for my actual deep fryer.
