What Are My German Blue Rams Doing?

Good, although 95L is a little small for Jewels. They should be fine. But again they need temp 22-26C, gH 4-16, pH 6.5-7.5 with plenty of oxygen. They are very attractive fish

Yeah, I will turn the temp down, drip method them in to my tank, and drip method the rams into my dads tank.

rams need 26 deg celcius MINIMUM, so i am the same as minxfishy. A lower temp makes them more prone to illnesses =/

they need warmer temp water!

Rams require good aeration, which in high temp tank is lower than in lower temp tanks. You could keep Rams in a tank that has a high temp but this would may them more lethargic as the speed of the metabolic rate increases in higher temp. Keeping Rams in 24-26C is the best and most natural temp range to keep them in. Rams breed in the lower temp ranges so i dont know where you got that "A lower temp makes them more prone to illnesses" from. And if they breed in lower temp then it proves that it is the most healthest temp for them as an animal will not breed if it isnt entirely happy in it environment!

i read it in an article

here is the comparisons of what the websites say

Tank temps should be quite warm for blue rams - 82-86 preferably
27-28°C
27°C
80-85 ºF

dont think im having a go, but 24deg Celsius is far too cold IMHO

those are bolivian rams not german blue rams though =/

i understand how the GBR is a relation to the bolivian though

I hope you turn that temp back up youngfisher. make sure you get info from more then one person and then do your own research to compare. If you want best colour in rams and them spawning all the time keep the temp 28-29 and feed them alot of variety. also you need a male :).

and Andywatson29 dont be so blunt when another persons voices there opinion you should do some research yourself it seems. and keep it to the same species of fish here all rams are Different and have different requirements.

Gotta disagree, 26c for rams minimum.

WHAT MINIMUM, never ALL RAMS (German and Bolivian) should be kept at 24-26c

Nope that's incorrect I agree 26-28C

I agree. Rams should be fine with a slightly higher pH, as tank bred fish are normally fine with a wider range, I wouldn't worry about peat but as stated be careful when you do water changes. If the pH in the tank is higher then your tap due to the rock and you do a big water change the swing could stress the fish.

i agree :)

a low pH is favored, but if its higher it just means they won't show their full color potential :)
