And far be it from me to speak for SRC, but isn't that exactly what SRC is concerned about? Not that we would have homeless betta running around the streets, but poor quality betta, suffering betta, ignorant breeding practices.

There are many similarities with any pet being allowed to breed. Except betta can't be speutered and the breeding must usually be diliberate.

Nail...head...you hitting it right dead square on.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Careless/hapless fish breeders won't dump them on a shelter's doorstep..instead they will either not get water changes and die..or possibly become lunch for someone's oscar when they can't find them homes.

Oh and I'm not a HE . unless you think I look like one .

I love the black one. I don't know that I've ever seen a black betta before. They're all nice. I haven't gotten hooked on Aquabid yet (fortunately).
