Water Stats

not really good or bad tbh, but interesting, if your nitrates in the tap water are 50ppm, then you'll never get them below that with water changes. 50ppm is no big deal really, yeah 'ideally' it would be nice to be a touch lower, but it shouldn't cause you any harm. some areas like london for instance have very high nitrates and plenty of fishkeepers manage alright.

on the plus side it means your maintenance routine is just fine :good:

Yep exactly what Miss Wiggle said. No change in your maintenence is necessary since 50ppm is the best you can do with what you're given. Some invertebrates are more sensitive to nitrate levels than fish though so that may/may not be an issue.

Thanks Miss Wiggle & dogfood,
That is reassuring, guess all i need to do is sort out the filtration. I think I will take Miss Wiggles advice and go for a fairly cheap internal filter and see if that will remove the tiny particles.

Again,

Thankyou.
