I think that this whole forcing animals to fight idea is kind of barbaric, but hey.. whatever floats your boat. When you're done, sacrifice some chickens and rub the blood all over your face, it's good luck, I hear.

Oh dear! Neither did we evolve to treat other species on this planet in a way that we would not use upon ourselves. You'd call a King or President dominant but do they make us fight, no they attempt to make peace in the world and do the best for their people as we should do for the world we live in, or we will destroy it.

I m not completely sure, its interesting how they fight, they flare right up and act all macho. Its like humans, at a less complicated level. If I saw two bettas fighting, I defenantly wouldnt have the power to pull my eyes away itd be an amazing display of passion between the fish, fighting for thier honor, colours and fins blazing...wow!

It seems as though the reasons that are being given in favor of betta fighting are to the benefit of the people watching. I would be more inclined to be in favor if it were to benefit the fish in ANY way. Are there any benefits to the fish?

I've stood in department stores for twenty minutes at a time waiting to yell at someone about a fight I just had to break up because some ignoramous put bettas together. It's nice to know how some people feel,I suppose

True fighting bettas (in the wild) aren't flashes of color and finnage, they're short finned and rather dull in color. And it's not as exciting & fun as you seem to think it would be.Those overseas who do fight bettas, or people who do it with care and regard for the animal, take proper measures to ensure that their fish will be the winner. Which means proper care,conditioning,diet. Not just chunking two veiltails together and letting the finnage fly!!
