Following my post of a few weeks ago about the rather too successful breeding in my tank.

In addition I now have a Perlmutt holding too, and another batch of Red Top Afra too.

I have wondered about putting something more unfriendly in the tank in order to cull some of the babes.

Any suggestions, my Blue Moori isn't big enough or indeed showing any interest in feeding on them was wondering if a Livingstoni might be the answer?

Surely there is someone locally who would take them off your hands. I know I would but, I seriously doubt I'm local to you.

You might look into some of the Synodontis catfish, they pair well with Malawis and the smaller ones can get into places where the adult cichlids can't.

There are 6 Synos in the tank already and must confess I didn't know they ate the fry with any degree of passion, unfortunately the huge amount of rock in there has produced some very tiny and tight hiding places, that even they can't get into, although one of the newly spat fry lives under a rock next to the Syno and the Syno doesn't appear to have any interest, and to add to that the Perlmutts like to dig under everything and produce a plethora of little caves for the juves. Its getting silly and no-one seems to want the babies even if I could get them out without a tank strip down.
