walmart betta cruelty

I have a sneeeeeky suspicion that you will.
Will you be working in the fish department?
Maybe they'll let you bet the shepherd of the bettas? :D

OH, and Styx...
is the name in relation to the band?
They're one of my fave bands - seen them several times live!
Saw REO the other nite too.
heh heh

No, I really wanted to work in the pet department. But I'll be a graveyard stock monkey. Ooh-la-la. I have a sneaky suspition I will be too... Or I'll just buy them to heal them and give them away. XD Then all my friends will have billions of bettas too. I plan on complaining after the first little bit until they let me into the pet depart though... or fire me. Whichever happens first.

No, the river actually. :3

Yay for you and the bettas.
If you ever need someone to come in and stage a ruckus in the fish department, you know who to contact.

Maybe you should have an exebition in the back of the bus?

it is sad that walmart wont care of their fish, iv seen people go up to a rack of sick bettas and sad "eww nasty" but when they have fresh shipments and the fihs are nice and healthy, and alert, they get sold like puppys, they are just hard to resist when they are in good health. you would think that if they sell more of them when they are healthy, that they would take a hint and keep them healthy. even if they go home to a perosn who knows nothing about bettas, atleast they had a home outside of that crappy cup  walmarts fish care has had its up and downs, but i think recently its gotten awful, first, the cups didn't ahve air holes, took the managers a week to figure out they needed air :dunno: and then it was feeding, then water care, and soon it all became one big problem. in my opinion u should ahve to have a lisense to sell fish and pets, just my opinion :dunno:

I completely agree.

But then, where would I rescue bettas from?

Aaaah, if only I had that problem.

Have you had a chance to get back to that WalMart to see if the male/female combo in the vase is still separated?

Yeah.
You know, the thing that makes me the maddest about that whole deal is that GuppyDude said that one of the employees there said they'd been told by 3 diff people that day that the fish would kill each other.

so, why the heck were they still in together at 9 pm?

good god

It is not just Bettas that are mistreated at my wal-mart. Angels, oscars, tetras gouramies, they all are bulk packed in a 10 gallon. Alot of the fish resort to cannibalism. :(

i have not made it back to walmart yet, and i dont think im gunna be able too, im a little busy this weekend, its a 45 minut drive for me as well so i really dont wanna go out there unless theres something i absolutely need (gas is 2.50 a gallon :X )
