I hope so. There was plenty of slime and the water dirtied my whole tank temporarily so think it got plenty from it. The slime is still clogging to my filter too. Is it the slime I want?

No.  The stuff you want is the bacteria in a biofilm.  They cling pretty tightly to the surface they are attached to.  Primarily what you added was 'mulm'.  But the good news is that any additions like that from an established tank will always be carrying some of the right bacteria for your tank, not just the nitrifying bacteria, but other bacteria that help make a 'new' tank into a 'mature' tank (Normally that is a 6 month process.)
