its a good that they are getting healthy. just make sure that when your taking pics to make sure your angelfish doesn't know about it okay.

By Red twins, are you refering to 2 of the bettas?? Cus if you are and you believe they are both male.................SEPERATE them! Otherwise you you acting no better than the person you bought them from. You say you would feel horrible seperating them, how would you feel if one killed the other?

i dont understand lne thing....if they are PK and used for fighting, why arent they aggressive?

i will seperate the red ones but, they dont fight each other, and they stay close to each other thats why i left them together, but they could be girls?

if the two pk males (or if they are female) are in the same tank as an angelfish they are most likely scared out of their minds and sticking with their own species for protection. angelfish are agressive and much bigger/stronger then a small abused betta. if you remove the angelfish they will feel more comfortable, comfortable enough to get annoyed with each other and fight.

I found that young males raised together will tolerate eachother while very young, so it might just be that in afew weeks/ months when they mature all hell breaks loose.

From the pictures i cant sex them, but if you have even the slightest suspician they are male get them out.
Also with regards to the angel, they tend to be agressive and i wouldnt be suprised if your bettas get harrased at some point, so i would move the bettas to seperate tanks. There isnt much point rescuing a betta to put it in another bad situation im afraid,

How were they abused, out of interest?

the angels are babys and very very mild nature, they only pick on each other, they never touched my bettas, my bettas are actually realy interested in them and always swiming up to them and trying to find out why they are flat!

Sorry.....absolutely no way of sexing them

Even if the red ones turn out to be female, when they settle in one will probably be more dominant and constantly harass the other. Seen it myself with a group of 4.

I have 3 very dominant females, 100% postive that they are all female because they have had babies before. 1 has to live by herself. the other are in a group of 5 and I am picking up more girls tomorrow to spread out the agression.

biggest rules with groups of female betta
1 plenty of tank space- no over crowding, I wouldnt even keep girls in a 10 gallon, mine are in the 29
2 plenty of hiding places- the more the better
3 at least 5 female at the bare min- the best amount is as many as can fit in the tank without over crowding.
and if fighting still breaks out you need to seperate

got any better pics, i cant see!, number 1 is a blur, number 2 is a blur, number 3 is a blur, number 4 is a blur, number 5 is a blur, number 6 is a blur, number 7 is a blur, number 8 is a blur
