Trying to get a pic of Gamma flaring

I was bored today, so I tried getting Gamma to flare. Here are my attempts:

Swimming around happily before I whip out the camera.

What- you want a picture of me?!

Gazing at his handsomeness in the mirror

Me doing this usually gets him to flare

He got scared tonight...

Posing, but not flaring

Smiling for the camera

His half-hearted flare

Acting shy

Refusing to pose any more:

1st off I have to say CC, you have some really cute hands Oh, but ya your betta is nice too. Naw, I Gamma very awesome looking betta. But, I am mad @ you CC, because I told ya to leave Gamma alone and you didnt (-Inside joke).

Syn, I took these pics before you told me to leave him alone. After taking that last pic, I stopped.

Edit: Sorry, I forgot to answer the question. One flower pot is 2.75" in diameter, and the other is around 1.75". He sometimes goes in the big flowerpot (usually when I'm cleaning the tank). The small pot I've filled with sand and stuck a bit of wisteria in, just to see if it'll grow.
