Ok ive done an 80% water change

shud i treat the tank as a precaution or not?

I would just carry out some daily water changes for now and keep an eye on the fish.

i gutted the tank earlier, boiled everything, and just topped up with fresh water, so u reckon just keep an eye out?

Thats sound fine.
Septicemia can gain enter through cuts and wounds so tip top water quality.
Water changes help dilute the bacteria in the tank.

also what about salting the tank?

Yes I would do another water change tomorrow.
Salt depends on which fish you keep.

theres a goby, and just female betta's

Not sure on gobys never kept them.
I would just check that you can add salt with gobys.

i added salt once b4 agesss ago and he was fine, im sure theyre predominantly brackish fish
