my PH dropped slightly! is this normal will i have PH fluxuations?

ok 48hrs after LR goin in here are the test results!
PH 8.2
Salinity 1.024
Nitrite 1.0
nitrate 0.0
Amonia 0.50

ph will fluctuate during the day. If you test just after the lights come on the reading will be lower than if you test towards the end of your photoperiod.

Looks very interesting whatever it is. is it acually swimming or getting carried around with the flow, its hard to tell from video. the worm thingy in your first picture, I have lots of them and have assumed they are bristle worms

How did the red light viewing go

Well Trod..i'd say swimming and floating!! my Koralias seemed to be playing catch with it!!
and the worm thingy in my pic is the same one on Video!!
Red light viewing wasnt good it seemed quiet last night but hey!! its Friday and critters might party
at the weekends also..

i had one that did exactly the same in my older 30g setup. it did it for one night and kept swimming the top of the tank for about 20 minutes.

Yes it was swimming around and i grabbed the camera just as the Koralias started playing
Table tennis with it..but! ive seen it a few times since!
some of my LR is starting to become rusty in appearance i will do my tests tomorrow !
other than that nothing else to report!

some of my LR is starting to become rusty in appearance i will do my tests tomorrow ! Diatoms, we all get them, it is part of the cycling process - keep on top of testing, you are likely to get your nitrate spike soon
other than that nothing else to report!

Yes i will test this evening in the middle of the light on period as imo if the PH drops after lights out
then i reckon it might rise or start rising again but i know also PH will fluxuate during cycle!

Lastnight nothing exciting happend just those little white things all over the glass i think i will call my LR ...DR

Probably hasn't dropped, just stayed the same, what test kits you got? Anyway, looks like you are certainly into your cycle, so now you are just waiiting for a spike in nitrates - did you do a water change?

ok, test kits can be a bit variable and sometimes difficult to read was just asking about the water change because that would explain your drop in nitrites.

Yes do a large water change when your nitrates spike

well tomorrow i test again as iam testing every 48 hrs,so ive been LR watching..
and hey hey hey!!! Looks like ive caught the Crabs..or erm well maybe the Crab!!
Little grey dude with some dots on him ..he isnt round shape but more like spike type pointed edges
hehehe i also noticed this dude has a long nipper and he was munching on diatoms on the LR
I have also noticed more polyp type things appearing and little things that hide when they know u have sussed em

From time to time i also see some stuff shooting outta LR and gets spread around the tank by the Koralias
