Got to agree, you can't do away with the need to change water. Anyway, the only way I could see this product can work in my chemically "locking up" nitrate and as such would leave very little for any plants to feed on. Another concern would be that non of the minerals that come with a water change would be getting added, nor would the tank be getting freshened up.

For either of those I would like to be told how they work. Without that info I will remain doubtful

Stick to the frequent water changes. As aquarium owners I beleive we should limit all chemicals in the tank. There's a time and a place for these, and only if there's no other option. Water changes work perfectly fine mate, and there free (well apart from the few pence per bucket you spend) :good:

I doubt you really want to know what I think of them. Let me tone it down some and simply say that I find them totally useless.

I have some of the easy balance. It came free with a clearseal tank i bought from p@h. It's still in the cupboard.

Just read the topic that John linked to, suprised there were never any replies after corbypete announced he had stopped using it. Interesting concept and trial though.

I know people that have a fish tank and NEVER do regular water changes and their fish breed like no tomorrow. I fanny about with w/c and testing etc and get #29### all!!

i think its hit and miss really. i was going to use to to stabilise my tank through this mini cycle because i really cant keep doing massive water changes everyday.

i dont really know many people with fish tanks to be honest. i know one person with cold water and another with tropical. but the friend with tropical doesnt take care of his tank and its heavily over stocked.

Should have a fair bit of cycled media then. lol.

Have you tried your LFS?
