Thinking Of Going Marine

I'm going to shop around and ebay is going to be my friend, what do you think of this refractometer?

Do you think it will be poor quality as it's cheap or not? Also, I heard that I don't need a skimmer until I get corals, if I want them. Also, what do you think of buying LR on ebay? Do you think it would be genuine or not?
Also, whats the average price of a bag of salt that will last me say, 6 months worth of water changes.

Sorry, couldnt help you out with the salt really. You could do some maths though, how many gallons will you be changing how often? Look on the bag of salt and see how many litres so many grams makes. With all that, and some basic multiplication etc you should be able to figure out what size bag will last you 6 months.

As for the Refractometer, check out Osmotics.co.uk (I think thats the URL) they are a sponser here at TFF and have a refractometer SALE on now! :D Your in luck!

Several people have bought LR on ebay. And they like the results. (Sorry, the examples escape me). A tip, make sure you pay via paypal, that way if your dissatisfied, your a chance at getting your money back! :)

A skimmer, well not all tanks need one. Ive run without one for months. My corals have been fine. Just keep up with your water changes and watch the condition of your water. It may be beneficial to add a small air driven skimmer (like a Lee's which are dirt cheap) whilst your LR is curing. But as for neccessity for coral? Na.

Would this lighting be ok? What corals would I be able to grow under it? It seems relatively cheap, also, wouldn't fish jump out given the chance because they don't have a tight fitting do they? And i'm wanting a blenny, and I heard a tight fitting hood is neccesary with a blenny.
